Jiu Jitsu Fundamentals
In the Jiu Jitsu Fundamentals basic techniques of self-defense are taught. The lessons are based on the basic Jiu Jitsu techniques developed and optimized by Grandmaster Hélio Gracie. Jiu Jitsu is a multifaceted self-defense system that includes techniques in standing and also on the ground.  During the training the whole spectrum is already taught and trained in the Fundamentals. The goal of this course is to empower the participants to defend themselves against larger as well as heavy attackers. The lessons take place in a group and are open to all persons. No previous experience or specific physical requirements are necessary. Training is barefoot in a white kimono (traditional clothing with jacket and pants) or in long/short pants with a t-shirt/rashguard (no kimono). The training with different forms of clothing serves to cover different real attack scenarios.

Jiu Jitsu training has a positive effect on various levels. Mainly, the self-confidence of the trainees is strengthened and increased. This, by learning to remain calm in uncomfortable situations and positions, as well as to find a solution. A solution that in practice has to do with leverage and balance, rather than pure physical strength. The wide range of different real attack scenarios gives the students a broad know-how. The five fundamental elements of Jiu Jitsu are:
